Matthew Godfrey - Mayor
It has been a privilege for me to work with our current Mayor, Matthew Godfrey. I have been impressed with him, both on
a personal and a professional level. Not only is he a good and honest man, but he is a tenacious advocate for
improving Ogden.
I have known the Mayor since he first ran for office and I have seen vast improvements to the city during his service. He
is someone who can get the results that we need. Ogden has a 23% lower crime rate than when he took office. This
astonishing accomplishment can be attributed to several cooperative efforts spearheaded by Mayor Godfrey in unison
with the City Council, such as the hiring of new police officers and the creation of a special zero tolerance police task
force unit.
We also have significant economic redevelopment happening all over our city, about 60 acres so far, with another 120
on the way. Mayor Godfrey has displayed impressive leadership ability as he has led our city to a place where
businesses are again coming to Ogden, bringing jobs and prosperity. The positive economic momentum in the city is
now greater than it has been in many years. Mayor Godfrey’s reelection will ensure that Ogden’s current positive
economic atmosphere will continue!
These are just some of the reasons why I will be voting to Re-Elect Mayor Matthew Godfrey. He is needed for another
four years, to get the results which we all need.
With so many projects beginning and finishing and so many positive things occurring, it is unfortunate to hear the press
continually sending a message that the City Council is unable to work with the Mayor. This is untrue. As I have worked
closely with Mayor Godfrey on many projects and initiatives, he has always been open and willing to listen and
communicate in a professional and forthright manner. We have a system of checks and balances and it is working
effectively. We arrive at a course of action after careful scrutiny and much discussion.
Our city is better for the time that Matthew Godfrey has spent as Mayor and I hope that you all will join me in
supporting him this year. We need and appreciate his leadership.!!!

Royal Eccles - At Large Seat C
After meeting with Royal and discussing his goals and intentions as a candidate for the Ogden City Council, it was
obvious that his perspective and leadership abilities will offer something very important to Ogden City.
Royal has some valuable business and other experience that will further strengthen his ability to get things done. I fully
endorse Royal and believe that he is the best possible choice for Ogden City voters who want to see the recent
economic revitalization in Ogden continue. We need Royal's leadership and experience on the City Council!!!

Blain Johnson - At Large Seat A
Blain is a good and honest man that is focused on issues that are critical to Ogden's future success. His openness
and professional communication style will be a welcome perspective on the City Council as we discuss difficult issues
in a logical and thorough manner.
I fully endorse Blain in his run for a seat on the City Council. I am confident that Blain has the proper perspective to
continue moving Ogden forward in the most positive way possible. We need Blain and his perspective, skills and
experience on the City Council!!!
