21st Street Pond Development Project
Project Overview: Posted: 01/24/2007
The 21st Street Pond is finally getting cleaned up! In a cooperative effort between Ogden City and
Goode Ski Technologies it has been proposed to expand and beatify the 21st Street Pond from 39
acres to 45 acres to create a professional water skiing park. This park would host large water skiing
events that bring water skiers to Ogden from all over the country.
In addition to the pond reconfiguration, investors are being sought to build a $30 million amphitheater
that is proposed to hold up to 22,000 people.
This proposed project would bring new life to the 21st street pond that has been avoided and
contaminated for years. In a few months, when the contamination abatement is completed this project
can move forward to further enhance our local natural resources.
The City Council formally listed the 21st Street Pond project as a priority for the Ogden City 2007 RAMP
funding requests. We are requesting $500,000 for the project and I will keep you informed...
