Ogden City Corridors
Overview  Posted 01/24/2007
In 2005 and again in late 2006, The Wasatch Front Regional Council in cooperation with UTA, met with
the Ogden City Council and outlined the areas in our geographical area that they felt were
transportation corridors that should have a high speed transportation options pursued in the recent
future because of expected growth patterns and future transportation needs.

The three corridors that were identified within Ogden City were the
"Downtown Ogden to Weber State
Corridor" , the "Washington Blvd. Corridor" and the "Downtown Loop Corridor".  According to their
presentation, Ogden City should pursue high speed connections along all three of these corridors.

We have actively been pursuing the Downtown Ogden to Weber State Corridor at the request of Mayor
Godfrey and the City Administration.  With the recent conceptual idea regarding the
Urban Gondola,
Mayor Godfrey has indicated that he believes the urban gondola could fulfill some of the transportation
needs along the corridor.  We will require a proposal to determine whether or not this mode will meet
the transportation needs as well as the proposed economic needs.

It is very important that we pursue all three of these corridors for the future prosperity of our
great city.  In the near future the Council will be meeting with the Mayor and the City
Administration to identify transportation corridor priorities so that we can get the ball rolling
on federal and state funding for these potential projects.
